STEM : Media and Technology

Innovation Technology is one core element in our curriculum at TKHC. It is more than just a subject teaching computer literacy. It is a proficiency we require all members at TKHC to be equipped with: it is a tool to be applied in all subject areas and it is a talent that we wish to help students develop during their extracurricular time.

The technology studies in G7-G8 Foundation Years Programme include computer literacy lessons, self-paced active learning modules, cross-subject studies and extracurricular activities, and competitions. With a comprehensive curriculum like this, we aim to nurture students to become innovative, active and competent learners and thinkers.

ABCDE are letters that represent our technology studies. AI, Block chain, Coding, Data science and Engineering are the major foci of the programme. Students will not only gain subject knowledge of these areas, but also gain an understanding of how design thinking works, employ logical reasoning to solve problems and build entrepreneurial skills through creating innovative solutions.

Understanding technology and being able to apply technology skills in context are the ultimate goals of our technology programme as we prepare students for the future. As John Dewey said, “If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow.”
